How to restore access to eZ Publish

Monday 07 May 2012 11:17

by Serhey Dolgushev  | 0 comments

Quite often there can be a situation when you have ssh access to the server, but you do not have access to the eZ Publish back-end (which is hosted at the same server). For example, single server hosts many eZ Publish projects, and you have back-end access only to some of them. Suddenly you need to get to inaccessible project`s eZ Publish back-end. Another example, the customer has provided you only ssh access, and you urgently need to create or modify eZ Publish node.

Road to eZ Market (1): the first steps

Monday 07 May 2012 08:52

by Terry Duivesteijn  | 0 comments

Note: This is a series of blog posts. You might want to read older posts first:

1) Ins and outs of product development for the eZ Market

----

As promised I will continue with writing blog posts about the release of our extension eZ Multitasking One into the eZ Market. My blog posts are an ongoing process, so if I miss out on any particular area you would like to know more about, let me know!

Parallel to my blog posts, my colleague David Ennis will describe technical details and challenges in his blog at http://share.ez.no/blogs/david-ennis.

In my posts I will try to chronologically list the steps we took on the ‘road to the eZ Market’.
This post describes the (possibly very obvious) first baby steps we took before we did anything else. That’s why this post isn’t technical at all, but more a ground-layer for upcoming posts.

When we thought of creating an extension that would simplify content management in eZ Publish we had to make a lot of decisions. In retro-perspective I personally think the following issues were specifically important to us throughout the whole process, and that’s why I kick off with this post.

ezpaypal using cURL

Sunday 06 May 2012 10:38

by Thiago Campos Viana  | 3 comments

I have created  an eZ paypal variation that uses cURL instead of socket to check payment, this was due to some problems I found on some servers that doesn't allow socket external communication, also I made some more small additions.

Preparing for launch on the eZ Market has made me get my house in order regarding the structure of an extension. I will be sharing these experiences with real-world examples in the near future.

Ins and outs of product development for the eZ Market

Friday 27 April 2012 10:25

by Terry Duivesteijn  | 6 comments

In the coming weeks I will write blog posts about how we created an extension for the eZ Market that is scheduled to be released end of May 2012 under the name eZ Multitasking One. In my series of blog posts I will explain more about the challenges we faced, including technical limitations and solutions, and the ‘road to launch an eZ Market extension’. I hope to fill a gap in the community regarding the grey area around the eZ Market and steps to be taken to launch a product. This includes very practical issues as generating documentation, thinking of licensing models, development guidelines, etc.
