Tuesday 27 June 2017 07:18

by Serhey Dolgushev  | 3 comments

As you might have heard, the eZ Platform Cloud was announced at the eZ Conference in London a few weeks ago. We at Contextual Code played with it  a bit and it is very easy to install an eZ Platform site, but things are a little different for eZ Publish Legacy. This blog post will show some of the most important steps in running a eZ Publish Legacy installation on eZ Platform Cloud.

Simple, automated cache busting JavaScript and CSS in Symfony with eZ Platform and eZ Publish 5.x

Wednesday 26 April 2017 09:26

by Peter Keung  | 2 comments

In eZ Publish 5.x and eZ Platform, we use Assetic to manage a website's JavaScript and CSS. By default, if you make a change to your JS or CSS files, the resulting file name ends up the same. This has some undesirable cache implications that vary depending on whether you're using a reverse proxy or CDN, how you've set up browser caching rules, and more. Here's a simple way to version the file names, while still being able to cache the files as much as possible.

Extending Rich Text field type in eZ Platform

Monday 24 April 2017 04:07

by Serhey Dolgushev  | 0 comments

We at Contextual Code were keen to see eZ Platform in action, and decided that updating our own website / blog would provide a perfect opportunity to get deeper into it. During testing of the new admin interface we discovered that a completely new WYSIWYG editor is now being used, but there is currently no easy way to develop eZ XML custom tags. That was the main reason why we decided to spend some time investigating eZ Platform’s rich text field type, looking to find possible ways of extending it.
