A year after the "cookbook for successful migration from eZ 4 to the Symfony stack" we share our learnings from real eZ 5 projects realized during the last twelve months.

In this year's talk at the eZ Summercamp we summarized the learnings from one year of developing two big and several smaller eZ Publish 5 projects based on the Symfony stack only.

The slides are available at http://de.slideshare.net/dfritschy/learnings-from-real-e-z-publish-5-projects and cover these topics:

  • Good Practice
  • ez View Cache vs. HTTP Cache
  • Debugging
  • Pitfalls
  • MultiSite/Multi-Repository Setup

During the talk there was lively discussion on several of the topics raised, especially on caching strategies and search service performance.

Please continue this discussion and share your experiences by commenting this post or writing your own blog entry. Thanks for contributing!
