eZ Systems will launch a Beta 2 version of the Annapurna release on October 25. At the same date we will, of course, open the documentation for a preview.

Things are happening fast now! We have just released the development preview version of the new Public API with presentations in Paris and Oslo. Next week we will launch the Beta 2 version of the Annapurna release. We hope that you all will take a liking to the new release. The Public API and the Annapurna release follow different development tracks. Even so the Annapurna release contains quite some snacks for everyone.

  • Direct uploading and storing of related files when editing
  • CSRF Protection – the eZ Form token extension
  • The new eZ Upgrade Kit
  • Service Portal updates
  • A new tool for installing/upgrading/uninstalling extensions (functionality with a huge Enterprise potential - on preview for this release)
  • A one-click eZ Publish installer for enterprise trials on Windows
  • Online Editor with TinyMCE 3.4
  • eZ Find 2.6 with Solr 3.3
  • New eZ Market extensions: Trados, Odoscope, Payex, eZ Content Cockpit, BK Render, YooChoose
  • New documentations:
    • Direct upgrading documents + a 4.6 upgrade documentation
    • Guidelines for developing native, mobile applications with the REST API
    • The Mobile Kit
    • White-paper on mobile application development possibilities with eZ Publish
    • A technical white-paper

From a documentation perspective we have made efforts to help out on upgrading, mobile developments and everything new in the release. Please preview, then give me your feedback. And I will see to it that things are updated and fixed before the final release day in November!
