eZ Publish Summer Camp 2012 - Details

Hello eZ Community,

I would like to give you some more details about the eZ Publish Summer Camp, before the official web site is released. If you by any chance don't know the schedule for eZ Publish Summer Camp is set: 5th to 8th September 2012 . We will have 3 days of workshops  and a boat trip  on Saturday 8th.

Workshops

80% percent of the program is defined. Final information will be shared on the web site once live:

• 1 track for eZ beginners - fast development kick-off . Although we are targeting beginners in eZ, those beginners should have some general knowledge in web delopment. Best pick would be students or recent new employees who have some web projects behind them but are just starting with eZ. There will be just one topic during the 3 days: how to create a simple eZ web site . During that workshop all core eZ concepts will be explained in theory and shown in practice.
• 2 track for eZ developers - 10+ interesting topics . We are targeting all experienced eZ developers here. Each day there will be 2 topics on each track and attendees will be able to choose the track of their interest. One track will be focused more on CMS level features (confirmed workshops so far: Caching in depth, Varnish integration, eZ Find in depth, AJAX/ezjscore use case) and the other track will be more focused on PHP level features (confirmed workshops so far: New Public API, REST API, Datatype use case). Few more workshops are yet to be confirmed.

Certification

We have an agreement with eZ Systems to organize eZ 4.7 certification. This will be included in the price.

Registration prices

We worked to create a really good price for the community. The price will be the same for both beginners and experienced:

- Regular: 400€ 
- Early Bird (till May 30th): 330€

Registration will be available on the web site beginning of May. There will be a small credit card processing fee (5€).

One registration will include: 

• 3 days of workshops (with coffee breaks and lunch)
• certification for 4.7 ez version
• Saturday boat trip with lunch
• 1 organized dinner 
• and some surprises

Accommodation & travel

Workshops will be held in the Elaphusa Hotel, Bol , Island of Brač , Croatia (some pictures of the location can be found here ). The location has a direct speed boat connection with Split  harbor and a regular ferry connection on the other sied of the island. 

Split Airport  has lot of flights to different destinations in Europe, during that part of the year (Munich, Frankfurt, Roma, Vienna, Berlin, London, Barcelona, Stuttgart, Cologne and more). There is a Split - Ancona (Italy) boat connection every day. 

We made a deal with the Hotel Elaphusa for discounted prices for our event:

• 55€ per person per night in double room  (Hotel is conference oriented so all rooms have separable beds)
• 72€ per person per night in single room 

There are other hotels and private accommodations nearby too.
