/extension/[extension_name]/design/[extension_name]/templates/content/search.tpl
Whenever you need to figure out what template is used you can enable the inline debug for the right siteaccess and can get the tpl file path..

Just to be precise: it is
/extension/[extension_name]/design/[design_name]/templates/content/search.tpl
While it is common to have the design named the same as the extension, it is not mandatory.
E.g. you could have an extension "mysite" which adds element in the "ezflow" design
