Possible? Cache and recompilation

I want to fix "something" so when I publish an object, the cache for parent_node of this object shall be cleared and then recreated. Is this possible to fix in the ez template language..or do I have to add a workflow here?

It should be the case by default (it clears the parent, the related and the reverse related if my memory serves me right).

Otherwise, enable smartcache and toy with the settings in the ini.
