Introduction

Summer is coming, and the lastest Alpha release of eZ Platform is carpooling with it.

Hi!

I have just started testing new pre-release. Alloy Editor still doesn't work for me. Instead an editor I see only ezxmltext code. Could you help me to activate the editor?

Cheers,

Michał

Hi Michal

Alloy editor doesn't work with ezxmltext, only with Rich Text. To test it, you may create a new ContentType (or update an existing one) and add a RichText field definition blunk.gif Emoticon

Hi Jérôme

Good to see a rich editor already integrated in this release!

Is it just for testing/scope purposes or is eZ dropping the ezxmltext datatype online editor support? Is it in the road map to implement the ezxmltext online editor and add the same function to create several different view templates for the same embed object?

As Jerome mentioned you need to create a new contenttype that leverages the rich text field type.

  1. Click the admin panel
  2. Click the edit button for the given contenttype group you wish to use.
  3. Add a new contenttype
  4. Add a field type defined as Rich Text
  5. Create an instance of your new contenttype and you will se the editor.

I was thrown by this myself and expected the xml text to be handled directly before i realized it is not the samme fieldtype.

Jérôme Vieilledent, Lars Eirik Rønning,
Thanks for yours responses.

Alloy Editor seems to be really user friendly. I'm waiting impatiently for final release of eZ Platform to migrate few legacy (yes, still legacy!) sites into platform stack.
