The eZ Publish Show is taking a break this week, to review the last 7 weeks, take in feedback, and plan ahead.

Hi Geoff, you've done a very good job so far. Thanks for taking this initiative and running with it. The format is fun and interactive, and brings a level of accessibility to eZ Systems that we haven't had, not to mention the opportunity to meet the rest of the ecosystem.
The starting time obviously does not work out well for the Americas, but realistically the community is much bigger in Europe right now, and you could consider a special start time every couple of months. It is also convenient to watch the recorded show at any time!
I'm particularly interested in seeing case studies of real eZ Publish implementations, centered around specific functionality. Some wide-ranging examples off the top of my head: content archiving, eZ Survey, REST API, mobile kit, eZ Market extensions. For newer extensions and features, this would help us separate fancy demos from what is actually being implemented. And for extensions and features that have been around for a while, this can help validate that what we think is best practice actually is best practice, and also pick up different and better solution approaches.

Hello Geoff,
I can only agree with what Peter already posted, you are doing a great job.
I like the subjects/content of the shows, and also it's length. The starting time is in my morning which is not that bad except when I work. But because you are using Google+ Hangouts it is easy to watch back to that's a big plus. I can't think of improvements right now, I really like the 'informal' way the interviews are done.
Regards Robin

Definitely happy to do the occasional 11am PDT start (6am in NZ, 8pm+ in EU) to include the Americas.

Yeah, there are so many ways to skin a cat with eZ Publish, "best practice" guides are elusive, and the lack of such guides is another obstacle to quickly picking up eZP. It's understandably re-assuring when you read a post on a forum where a peer is using a practice which you've worked out for yourself.
With the new re-design of Share.ez.no or the opening up of a JIRA wiki, I would hope that tools would be available for the eZ community to develop an eZ Publish Community Book, with best-practices (and discussion of) included.
Thanks for your ideas Peter!

Hi Geoff,
Everything so far was excellent.
For the Americas, an occasional time shift would be nice, as Peter suggested, especially if you have someone from there in the show. For most occasions IMO saving recording to youtube should be ok.
My only concern is how to keep the continuity. I would suggest to make the rhythm a bit slower over the summer (maybe every second week) and keep gathering the ideas so you have enough of them in the queue for Autumn. If you get in trouble with ideas ping me and I will gladly share some ![]()
Also, I'll try to plan a show from the Summer Camp ![]()

Stop teasing me with your delicious summer - it's the middle of Winter here!
I agree with quality, not quantity, and given the length of the shows (necessary for discussion I think), a fortnightly approach may prove more do-able for regular viewers.... I'll meditate on it.
If you'd like to run/host some shows, you'd be most welcome Ivo!

Cheers Geoff,
First I want to thank you for your effort, it is certainly highly appreciated
I think you nailed it with the G+ / video approach as it is easy to consume and has become standard item on our calendar here at Netgen.
As for the suggestions, maybe you could introduce "news of the week" section for the show. This could sum up all the eZ related news between the shows (in a minute or two) and would serve as an opener to the main subject of the show.
The second thing is to introduce show notes in which all the resources and links mentioned in the show would be rounded up. Something like on the 5by5 podcasts (http://5by5.tv/webahead/25).
Anyhow, keep up the good work!
