Hi Everyone ,

I have done ezfind installation and solr indexing and ......... everything works fine except finding documents like PDF ! (I cannot find these kind of document at all)

After trying a lot with eZ Find and getting no Result , I have tried eztikka and got some error in my error.log as follow

Any solution to make ezTika works or ezfind itself my document ?

 eztika can not extract content from binaryfile for searchindex exec( ./extension/eztika/bin/eztika var/ezwebin_site/storage/original/application/f58708b3f791a7198b44dab067a156fd.pdf > var/ezwebin_site/cache/eztika_b610b455745f5984c7f96825a4863fbc.txt )[ Sep 13 2012 12:04:13 ] [] eztika class eZMultiParser:eztika can not extract content from binaryfile for searchindex exec( ./extension/eztika/bin/eztika var/ezwebin_site/storage/original/application/9df3bf837e7faccc29f9f33a86a177bb.pdf > var/ezwebin_site/cache/eztika_b610b455745f5984c7f96825a4863fbc.txt )[ Sep 13 2012 12:04:13 ] [] eztika class eZMultiParser:eztika can not extract content from binaryfile for searchindex exec( ./extension/eztika/bin/eztika var/ezwebin_site/storage/original/application/f34f91a00a4f587ea1bd048ef8fce685.doc > var/ezwebin_site/cache/eztika_b610b455745f5984c7f96825a4863fbc.txt )

Are the pdf files are protected? If so, tika will honor this and wont extract text for indexing

Otherwise check the permissions, for example if you do a bulk index update, you should normally run it with your web server userid (temporary files are created in eZ Publish cache directory)

Thanks for your reply Paul !

I have already given all 777 permissions to All tike Folders and nothing have changed

I am running my Solr on another server and at the time of updating indexes i receive this error : (Can this be a problem ? how can i solve it ? )

HI,

it looks like, that on the server where you run ez Publish no java is available in /usr/bin/java

try to run

java -version

the output should something like

java version "1.6.0_24"

If java is istalled you have to define the correct java path in eztika.

Cheers Felix
