Hierarchical Faceting

Is there a best practice out there for adding Hierarchical Faceting to an eZ Publish install using eZ Find? Is this even possible with eZ Find?

Although there is some support in solr (http://wiki.apache.org/solr/HierarchicalFaceting) AFAIK it is not supported through eZFind. You can, of course, query solr directly...

Yes its possible with facet queries provided that the field you want to facet on has the hierarchy in some sort

I implemented hierarchical facets like this for the taxonomy (parts of the content tree) of a major eZ Publish site a few years ago

I am implementing a multi site search. We want to drill down based on which site a user wishes to and then on class within each site. We also have an author range that we want to expand based on which range a user clicks on, and finally we have a date published range that we would like to drill down into.
