Fresh install 2012.8 won't continue from select language

I am trying to install 2012.8 on an fresh install of ubuntu 12.04.1.

It will not move beyond the first select language screen.

Is anyone else having this issue?

UPDATE:

It works when not using the .htaccess

SOLVED:

Install without using .htaccess. Then use .htaccess after the install
