images renews on every fetch

Wednesday 01 February 2012 3:08:11 pm - 1 reply

While investigating a problem with broken images I found out that the aliases are generated every time I fetch the node.

{def $picture = fetch('content', 'node', hash('node_id', $object.content.relation_list.0.node_id))}

More than that the original file is regenerated. And sometimes the new file is broken. (I don't know why yet.) Which leads to a total loss of data. And the page is very slow obviously.

Any idea why that happens or what to do to avoid regeneration? (It's version 4.0.0 by the way)

cheers
Philipp

Hi Philipp,

we have seen such issues by the past, and before we could help you more on this issue, you should really upgrade your eZ Publish installation. 4.0.0 (and 3.10.0) is known as the more buggy version in the eZ Publish history blunk.gif Emoticon

As far as I can remember (but can't say which version), image generation can be buggy under high load and/or when you have some permission issues in your var/ directory (or bad-managed concurrent accesses within this folder).

I hope that you find a solution.

Cheers,

Arnaud
