MySQL server has gone away during backend action

MySQL server has gone away during backend action

Hi,

We use eZPublish Community Project 2014.11 (equivalent to 5.3~5.4) for a website, mainly using the symfony framework, and using legacy for backend and some seldom functionalities.

Everything's working fine on front end, but in backend we are experiencing troubles during modifications (article editing, class editing, etc).

Server hangs for a while and eventually times out.

Logs show traces like :

eZMySQLiDB:Query error (2006): MySQL server has gone away. Query: COMMIT

eZMySQLiDB:Query error (2006): MySQL server has gone away. Query: SELECT id, p...

The traces are linked to the issues because when we analyse the logs, we can see the queries are related to the item currently edited while crashing.

Our database is remote from the web server, and configured classicaly according to ez docs (through ezpublish.yml configuration).

What can we do to solve this out?

Thanks for your help

Julien

Another clue : when we are re-trying to edit right after a transaction timeout, it immediately works fine.
