Hi,
Has anyone developed or seen a wysiwyg template creator for eZ Publish?
There is one available that says it supports Drupal and Joomla called Artisteer (www.artisteer.com), and they say it will be extended to support "other CMS" this year. I've contacted them to find out if this will include eZ Publish. (No word yet).
I have clients who have seen and used systems like this, and are a bit lost because (afaik) there is nothing equivalent / yet available for eZ Publish. But perhaps I'm wrong...
Anyone know of anything like this that exists now?
(I realise that - technically - this can be done with Dreamweaver, for example, but I'm looking for options for people that want to make simple changes themselves and don't have the time to become experts in CSS or eZ Publish).
Many Thanks

Hello Paul,
Newbee to eZ Publish, I don't know the answer to your question, but quite used with Joomla, I can say that Artisteer is a mess. It doesn't produce clean code and css, and over forums, a lot of people complain about cross-browser compatibility. Could be nice for a personal page but not for a profesionnal application.
Hope it helps !

I wake up this old topic, and however so up to date as templating in ezpublish is just a pain...
Anyone has a good solution to easily create a theme for ezpublish ?
Would be so nice to buy a template for wordpress, or for joomla (there're tons of awesome themes) and 'upgrade' it to be ezpublish compatible
Or even use a wysiwyg (artisteer seems to be a good soft for that) to create a html template and use it into ezpublish
=> If someone has some feedbacks to easily tune an ezpublish with an awesome theme, he/she is welcome to explain the strategy followed !
Even if you imagine a tricky custom ezpublish extension that could solves this problem, you're also welcome to explain it !

Hello Jerome,
Because of the significant difference between eZ Publish and other solutions ... you will -never- be able to buy templates for other solutions and use them (without substancial modifications; effectively a complete reimplementation) within eZ Publish. I expect a lot of future growth and possibilities within the future of eZ Publish, though this sadly is not one of them.
In fact most of the time, only non-programmers waste their time pining for everything to be provided for them so they can avoid real creating solutions themselves and learning how to create in eZ. I look at this as a bad thing. So in a lot of ways I hope this never comes to fruition as it would seem to encourage the worst behavior in users instead of personal growth and development.
Just my thoughts. I'm sure others opinions will vary here, greatly.
+1 for a feature complete wysiwyg template editor for eZ Publish.
Consider filing a roadmap feature request or issue ticket on this topic and share a link to the roadmap feature request or issue you create so we can all share our support for this functionality?
Cheers,
Heath
