A Tree-based eZ Platform Configuration?

Friday 18 March 2016 12:16

by Bertrand Dunogier  | 4 comments

While I was fiddling with SiteAccess configuration for a new bundle, I thought of an alternate organization that may simplify things. In eZ Publish legacy, the settings folder followed a directory-based structure convention. Override levels (siteaccess, global, etc.) were materialized as directories, and configuration namespaces (content, site, file) as filenames. It turns out that we could easily implement the kind of tree-based configuration with eZ Platform.

The CommentsBundle, added with eZ Publish 5 in november 2013, makes it easy to integrate cloud based comments to any site. By default, it supports Facebook comments and Disqus. The GooglePlusCommentsBundle adds support for Google+ based comments.

Proof of concept: a better eZ Publish 5 application layout

Saturday 25 January 2014 05:47

I've always been a bit annoyed by the way eZ Publish 5 apps are structured. Having to modify the original EzPublishKernel, or modify the original configuration files, is really something I have a hard time doing.

A couple months ago, I started thinking about a better, Symfony 2 like way to do it better. Here it is.

Quite a few changes happened last week in the ezp-next github repository. We merged several work repositories into the main ezp-next repository, and are in the middle of cleaning it up.

The eZ Coding standards need you !

Thursday 26 May 2011 06:09

In our continuous effort to open eZ Publish to both our community and professional partners, we have worked on establishing coding standards that will help uniformize how our software is written and organized.

Since you, community members, are contributing more and more to eZ Publish, by means of pull requests or extensions, it only makes sense to ask for your feedback before we publish a first version of these standards.
