“The goal of the eZ Community Board is to govern and coordinate community-driven activities related to eZ Platform and to other open source projects from eZ Systems and/or other members in the eZ community as well as to promote and help grow the community.”

The current Community Board has been in place since March 2016. Time to renew the Board!

2016 has seen a lot of progress. eZ Engineering has launched several releases of eZ Platform, including a Long Term Support release. The community is engaging and sharing knowledge on Slack, as well as events such as Web Summer Camp and the eZ Conference. The recently started work around eZ Platform v2 has also triggered several initiatives in our community to showcase some of the topics at hand.

Apply to join the eZ Community Board today

Nominations are now open for the eZ Community Board and will be closing March 8. The current Community Board will vote and put together the next composition of the Board in their next meeting. To apply, simply comment at the bottom of this post!

Being part of the eZ Community Board is a special opportunity to help guide the development of the eZ community. Check out the Governance Framework to read more about the Board. Typically, the board will vote and decide on very concrete and important topics such as:

  • how to improve our community platform and all other community tools
  • maintain and grow our community program, including onboarding, and contributions to eZ Platform
  • constantly adapt and align our community effort to ongoing changes
  • participate in, and (co-)organize community events

Being part of the eZ Community Board does not mean you commit to a large amount of work. It should actually not take much more than participating in board meetings, which are done remotely via Google Hangout or Skype, on a biweekly basis.

So if you:

  • care for the growth of the eZ community
  • are active or would like to be more active in the community
  • maintain a network of people in and around the eZ ecosystem
  • have ideas and feedback to bring to the table
  • want to grow together with the community

You should apply to be a member of the board!

We are looking forward to your nominations. If you have any questions, leave a comment below or contact me directly.
