This week brings us a variety of news: the latest progress on eZ Platform, with Symfony Forms being added, and user registration almost finished. There’s also an intro to Angular 2 for Symfony developers. And last but not least, our regular news on Social and Events.

Week 23 in Review

Symfony Forms and Registration added

eZ Engineering is making progress with their roadmap for eZ Platform. Just recently, they added Symfony Forms support  for more FieldTypes (selection, checkbox), and user registration is almost finished. Details on Symfony Forms can be found at, and current progress on user registration can be tracked at

Introduction to Angular 2 for Symfony developers

“Angular is a household name in JavaScript frameworks. Like Symfony2 in it's time, the second major iteration of Angular is a revolution. In this article we'll take a look at the key concepts of Angular 2 and how they compare to ones in the Symfony Full Stack Framework, ” says Jani Tarvainen, Professional Services Consultant at eZ. His  blog post.  provides more insight to both frameworks, covering the similarities, Dev tooling, and more.

Why we ditched our legacy framework for Symfony

For someone that is new to eZ, our history is not always clear. But it’s important to what we are doing, and why, like the transition from eZ Publish to eZ Platform. This is why I want to re-share an article by Roland Benedetti, VP of Product and Marketing at eZ Systems, ‘Why we ditched our legacy framework for Symfony’.

“Why would a successful organization toss out an excellent open source web development platform that had an avid developer community? That’s the story I’m here to tell.”

Social media

Ramzi Arfaoui Tweeted about a video he made, about installing eZ Platform. You can view the video on YouTube. He also wrote an accompanying blog which you can read here.

A great selfie, also by Ramzi Arfaoui,in front of eZ Systems office in Germany,  which he posted on Twitter.

Although I do not have any new or updated documentation resources to share this week, I do like to mention an important page. How to contribute to our documentation. “While we are doing our best to make sure our documentation fulfills all your needs, there is always room for improvement.” If you'd like to contribute to our docs, you can place a comment on a document page, create a Jira issue, visit the documentation channel on Slack, or email the doc-team. Full details can be found here.

Each week, we publish a roundup of highlights from the eZ ecosystem on, which we republish here on the eZ Blog. If you have any news or events to share, please contact me.
