2016 is off to a great start. The eZ Community Board has started its renewal by posting a call for nominations, and community members are back in their seats making pull requests.

In my ‘Week in eZ,’ I am covering news from community blogs, social media, the eZ Community on Slack, events, and more. If you have any news or events to share, please contact me, so I can include it in upcoming posts.

Week in eZ #1 2016

Community Board renewal

Roland Benedetti, chair of the eZ Community Board, posted this week about the renewal of the board. If you are actively involved in the community, and want to help ‘pave’ the road for eZ Platform, being a member of the Community Board might just be a good fit for you. Nominations are currently open for the eZ Community Board and will be closing February 17th in the morning. To apply, simply comment on this blog post! In his post, Roland also shares important details on board duties, and more.

eZ Platform forum

With the recent release of eZ Platform, we created a dedicated eZ Platform forum on where you can post all your eZ Platform-related questions, share your insights and learn from others in the community. Anything from general, developer, install, or configuration-related topics can be posted. Of course you are free to also post in our Slack channels.

Social Supporter of the Year: Ivo Lukač

If you are a member of our community, you most likely met Ivo online, or at an event. Ivo is very active, Tweeting, keeping up a steady stream of engaging blog posts, and running the eZ Publish Show. for these efforts, Ivo received the 2015 Social Supporter of the Year at the 2015 eZ Conference. You can read more on this on the eZ Blog. Congrats Ivo, well deserved!

Some weekend reading:

Social media

Patrick Allaert posted the other week on Twitter about forking a php7 version of eZ Publish legacy. "For those who want a blazing fast old admin interface." You can find this fork on GitHub. Patrick also evaluated eZ Platform with php7. According to his tests, “it works and is fast!”

Rihards Steinbergs, an active community member, posted the following: “That warm fuzzy feeling when contributing back to open source: … #feelsgoodman”

These 3 stickers summed up last year (codewise) for Ivan Herak, who posted this shot himself on Twitter.
