Patrick Allaert and I presented a conference yesterday titled Create an eZ Publish web site in 45 minutes (actually it was in French eZ Publish : un CMS pour créer un site orienté contenu en 45 minutes) at the Forum PHP 2013 in Paris.

REST API Demo application at the eZ Unconf #2

(For french speaking people, a french version of this article is available on my own blog)

One part of the Public API and REST API workshop at the eZ Unconference 2013 was dedicated to a concrete demo of the eZ Publish REST API v2. I chose to build a completely static HTML5/JavaScript application to show that with a very few lines of code, it's possible to build a quite fancy application :-)

Twig pagelayout for legacy modules in eZ Publish 5

Wednesday 01 May 2013 01:02

(For french speaking people, the original french version of this article is available on my own blog)

As I'm currently upgrading the french Planet eZ Publish to the last eZ Publish 5, I'm also reviewing some of the bugs or the missing features I encountered when setting up the eZ Publish 5 version back in december 2012. One of those issues was about the differences between the pages generated by a legacy module (ezinfo/about, planet/search, ...) and the rest of the website. This was due to the fact that in 5.0, it was not possible to use a Twig pagelayout with a legacy module so the result of those modules were still injected in the good old pagealyout.tpl. Starting from the versions 2013.4 and 5.1, it's possible to use a Twig pagelayout on the legacy modules. That's a neat feature for a smooth and progressive upgrade to the new stack, but there are many interesting facts about it.

Using the eZ Publish REST API v2 with cURL

Friday 19 April 2013 02:28

by Damien Pobel  | 0 comments

Lately, I've been testing and fixing several issues with the eZ Publish REST API v2. To manually test it, I use cURL (man curl) because it's widely available, well documented, and like any other command line tool, you can use it together with others text processing tools (grep, xmllint, xsltproc, ...). I'm writing this post as a memo for me but I'm sure some people will find it useful as well.

Planet eZ Publish.fr orbited by eZ Publish 5!

As announced on Twitter and Google+ a week ago, the Planet eZ Publish.fr (the french version of Planet eZ Publish.org) is now powered by eZ Publish 5 (actually, it's build from git clones from 2012-12-04 so it's a version somewhere between 5.0 and the future 2012.11/2012.12 versions).

The AJAX Uploader is a new end user feature that allows to quickly upload a file and add the resulting object in a relation. It's available for Object Relations (ezobjectrelationlist) and Object Relation (ezobjectrelation) attributes.

Soon to be release autostatus extension needs translators

Friday 01 July 2011 02:12

by Damien Pobel  | 16 comments

I'm about to release a new version of the autostatus extension for eZ Publish. This extension allows to automatically update one or several Twitter and/or Identi.ca statuses when something is published in an eZ Publish site. I'd like to make it available in different languages. So basically, this post is a call for volunteer translators (like the one I did on Twitter some hours ago).
