Summary and a screencast of the improvements in the content edit form in the administration interface.

The eZ Publish Community Project 2012.3 was released today. This version comes with the last version of the ezautosave extension that adds a new widget to ease the preview from the content edit form. I added it through a pull request with my hat of community member, I'm quite proud of it ;-)

Besides this, several improvements have been added in the content edit form in the administration interface in the last versions:

  • the fullscreen mode has been removed in favor of a fixed top control bar so that the main buttons are always available;
  • the left menu is now hide-able, its state is stored in a preference to keep it after a page refresh;
  • as soon as you start scrolling down, a "Go to the top" link appears in right bottom corner;
  • the ezautosave extension adds the automatic and transparent saving of the draft
    while editing a content (see the README for details);
  • the ezautosave extension also adds a preview link to preview the edited content without any page refresh.

An image is worth a thousand words, what about a screencast ? ;-)

(I'd recommend to watch it in HD)
