This great event is now one week behind us. These intense three days of UnConf passed very quickly, but there is so much to say about it so it’s now time to wrap it up with a recap, slides and pictures!

View of eZ Team on eZ Publish’s future

The first day was divided in different sessions. The first morning was dedicated to corporate talks with different themes and speakers: Nicolas, VP Community, talked about the Ecosystem and the eZ Community. Christof, our Chief Product Officer, gave his outlook of eZ’s future with Internet. Then Roland, eZ's Product Manager, gave an overview of the eZ Publish Roadmap.

The day’s closure was made by the founders of eZ Systems: Bård Farstad talked about the Innovation at eZ and how we do it. Aleksander Farstad concluded the day with the CEO keynote and his vision of the eZ Ecosystem.

Workshops for Everyone and eZ Experts for all

The Monday afternoon as well as Tuesday were organized in Workshops: Symfony2 Basics held by Hugo Hamon, from SensioLabs, eZ Publish 5 basics from Philippe and Florent, Expert Consultants at eZ Systems and Backwards Compatibility & Symfony2 in eZ Publish 5 by Lukas Kahwe Smith, from Liip and Jérôme V., Lead Engineer eZ Symfony, at eZ Systems and eZ Publish 5 PHP and Rest APIs, by Bertrand, André and Damien.

The eZ Experts Lounge has also been very enjoyable for attendees who would have questions on their projects and on eZ Products. Patrick, Gaetano, Jérôme C. have made themselves available to answer as best as possible attendees’ questions.

UnConf Sessions and Flash-talks at Cap Omega

Our sponsor, Kaliop had invited us to spend the last afternoon in a location that was reflecting our orientation and values: Cap Omega.

Cap Omega is an innovative high-tech business incubator where IT businesses are highly represented. The building has been created to foster exchanges between the startups from Cap Omega and create synergies between them.

The Wednesday afternoon was dedicated to UnConference Sessions:

  • Content Type definition via config files
  • Improving Developer Experience
  • Deployment

were the topics picked by the audience, after a flash-vote.

Then followed the flash talks:

In Conclusion:

I hope you enjoyed those 3 intense days of eZ work in South of France. In a constant goal of improvement, we want to receive your feedbacks, constructive criticisms and reactions on this event. Therefore, I am now drafting a survey to collect all your ideas for the next UnConference. Stay tuned!
