Last week I was present at Symfony Live Berlin, speaking about eZ Publish 5.
This was a really nice conference, very technical, with a lot of nice talks and workshops. It was a good opportunity to finally meet many Symfony guys I usually meet on IRC, Github or mailing lists, like Lukas Smith (Symfony CMF, PHPCR...), Benjamin Eberlei (Doctrine core dev) or Nils Adermann (Composer).
My talk was about eZ Publish 5 meeting Symfony, and how we solved backward compatibility issues. It was very well received by Symfony community I must say. Here are a few quotes from Joind.in :
Really interesting approaches to deal with legacy projects.
Very interesing point that we're now in the ages where projects share code between each other!
Before the talk I had no idea of the lambda's usefulness in migrating from legacy/non-symfony application to Symfony full stack / Symfony Components based infrastructure.
The global organization was really good and must be credited to Sensio Labs Deutschland (I love the Symfony candy bears) and I highly encourage eZ Community to attend to Symfony Live conferences whenever possible (there are 4 a year: Paris, London, San Francisco and Berlin).
