eZ Tags Extension modal dialog doesn't display / eZ 5.4

Hello.

I have some trouble with eZ Tags extension in eZ Publish 5.4.1.
In nearly all contenttypes I'd like to add the "tags" fieldtype. I am using legacy mode for content editing, based on a custom layout.

If I choose a tag from the existing tags list everything works fine. But I can not add new tags. When I enter a new tag name in the input field an click the "Add" button nothing happens. There should be a modal overlay where I must choose the top location for the new tag.

All js/css files are loaded corretly, the needed html element for the modal dialog is available in the sourcecode (hidden) but it will not display.

Just to be sure that there are no compatibiliy problems with other jquery libraries I disabled loading of any other js files instead of the needed ones. But that did not help.

eZ Tags extension is shipped with jqmodal.js file. On line 35 you will find (minimized on the original code):

 $.fn.jqmShow=function(t){
  return this.each(function(){
    t=t||window.event;
    $.jqm.open(this._jqm,t);
  });
};

"this" is the modal dialog content, which contains the modal dialog content if I "console.log" it. Anyway the "this.each" function will not be entered and I don't now WHY!!!?

Is there anyone who can give me some help what could cause the problem?

Thanks a lot.

Philip

One addition here:

The "jqmShow" function will be called. I tested it with some alert. But the "each" loop will not be entered.
