ezFind strange results

Wednesday 11 December 2013 3:46:34 pm - 1 reply

I have set up ezFind for a customer and I'm getting some strange results. If I do a search for "Berge" I get objects with names like this:

even if I don't use a wildcard. I was under the impression that you had to use wildcards to do partial matches like that.

I also have a second question. If you do a wildcard search the relevancy score becomes 100% on all objects returned, is it possible to change that?

Hi Bernt,

Solr (which is used by eZFind) uses stemming techniques to better match word variations. Check your ezfind/java/solr/conf/schema.xml file for details, look for stemmers. If you use multicore the path is slightly different, but you'll manage. If you don't want to use stemmers you can comment them out in schema, restart solr and reindex.

Don't know exactly what to advise about the second question. It might be connected to the solr search handler that is used by ezfind (heuristic one), your only option would be to try different handlers but that might also change other search behaviour
