Hello,I am a new user of Ez Publish and I was wondering if any one can help me. I am editing the contact information about the company but I cannot see the textfield for facebook info. Is it possible to add the textfield to the CMS so I can enter the information? Help appreciated.Cheers,Ashwini

Hello Ashwini Chaskar,

Yes! You can edit the content class definition via the admin and add a new text block attribute to store your custom information.

Simply navigate to http://admin.example.com/class/classlist/1 and edit your custom class.

Note that you will prolly require a custom template override edit to add the template code to display your custom template on your user siteaccess.

Remember that you can only create template overrides edits at the filesystem level and not via the admin.

I recently showed a brief example of how to create a template override edit in this forum thread, http://share.ez.no/forums/developer/frontpage2#comment84578

I hope this helps! Feel free to ask more questions Ashwini.

Hi Heath,

Thanks for your reply. I am just exploring ez publish and so can't find the place where to edit the custom class. Anyways I will study some more and see if I can do this. Thanks though.

I think I don't have the permisssion to do so as a user?

What do you mean by file system level? Do u have any online reference for this?

Yes, you need to have an administrator account to be able to edit content classes definitions in the Administration Interface.

About filesystem-level access: Heat meant that the custom templates and the configuration which you need to write to tell to eZ to display your content class in a customized way are both managed directly as source files, not via the Administration Interface.
