Hot to change email where i receive notifications

Monday 08 July 2013 3:11:19 pm - 3 replies

Hey everyone,

I am beginner in ez Publish so really need answer for one very simple question. I have one client with ez Publish site, but I don’t edit files much. I can’t find where to change email where I got notifications from my contact form. I want to add one more email for receiving notifications.

Thanks a lot in advance!

Hey Zila,

Welcome happy.gif Emoticon

There are various Locations. But your question is perfect to understand eZ internal hierarchy.

In eZP most Settings are done via ini-Files and an propietary key-value-pair of setting_name=setting_value.

The setting you probably searching for, is set up in the site.ini.append.php

Unfortunatly you will find a few occasions. Here a straight forward approach, which Folders you should check:

  1. root/htdocs-> extensions -> *your_custom_extension* -> settings -> site.ini....
  2. root/htdocs-> settings -> override -> site.ini...
  3. root/htdocs-> settings -> siteaccess -> *your_custom_frontend* -> site.ini...

If you are not able to find any of the following Settings in the directories from the ordered list above, let me know.

 [MailSettings]
Transport=sendmail
AdminEmail=foo@bar.de
EmailSender=foo@bar.de
NewsletterSubscriptionEmailSender=foo@bar.de
UploadReportReceiver=foo@bar.de

 Mind the  "[MailSettings]" Settingsgroup-header". You should find you desired Setting in that Group.

Another quite fast solution is to use the backend:

Login -> Setup -> Ini-Settings -> Dropdown= site.ini & Frontend siteaccess

Through the backend you also can check if you hierarchical structures works, in Terms you want to apply anything through eZP's internal structure.

Hope this helps you.

Cheers Chris
