Tags like share.ez.no

Wednesday 10 October 2012 12:09:26 pm - 9 replies

Hi,

I would like to use a simple tags system on my site : no suggestions, a simple autocompletion, no tree system...

I find ezTags isn't appropriate to my needs (a lot of good options (merge, ...) but i can't add a tag without choose a parent node tree in a lightbox, and i don't want to use suggestions...

I search an easily system (with merging option for administrator, it would be wonderfull happy.gif Emoticon ), like on ez.share.no. I don't want to hack a lot a files...

If someone has an idea, thanks in advance blunk.gif Emoticon !!

Use the native ezkeyword + ezjscore for autocompletion ?

Mhhh... ezkeyword uses a simple input text containing all tags of an object ( separate by "," ). I would like to split the string when "," is pressed in order to add a tag, just like in eztags, or here, on share.ez.no ...

Hi Paul,

you don't have to use suggestions in eZ Tags if you don't want happy.gif Emoticon Just don't hack the schema.xml in eZ Find, and suggestions will not show up.

I also made a hack some time ago for eZ Tags attribute template and JS to automatically store tags under a predefined subtree, without need for lightbox popup: https://gist.github.com/1571177

Maybe it can be useful happy.gif Emoticon

Hi Edi,

Thank you for your answer. I had seen your hack on https://gist.github.com/1571177 , but as I am supposed that ez.share.no used ezkeyword, i have posted here to know if there was an other solution... I try to escape hacking code when i can, but if it is the only way here... OK blunk.gif Emoticon

Hi Paul,

well, I hardly call it hacking when you can override the templates and javascripts in your own extensions happy.gif Emoticon

Works fine ! Is it planned to include this possibily in a future version of eztags ?

By the way, i have an other question concerning the view tags/view called when we click on a tag on the eztagscloud. The view doesn't take into account a parent node_id (so it returns the list of all objects on the site with this tag). I'm going to duplicate the module in my extension to add a parameter, but if an other solution exists.. blunk.gif Emoticon

Thank you !

Not in eZ Tags 2.0, but the general plan is to be able to have a possiblity to have a several tags attribute edit views, with a plugin system that would allow anyone to create a view that fits their needs.

This is the intended behaviour because tags/view is not related exclusively to eztagscloud operator, so the only option for you currently is to duplicate the view in your extension.
