The debug targets the "<!--DEBUG_REPORT-->" comment if present. So by doing this for a json output layout should result in the debug being a giant js comment...

However if you use "Template debug" then the above fix is thrown out the window as a bunch of other html comments telling you when other tpls start and end are printed.. which is needed for the rest of the non json outputs..

 

Has anyone developed a tpl operator for ez4 that prevents debug from spitting anything out but then only as a temp measure.. so when you request a normal full page layout the debug is still on...
