Introduction

TL;DR: Heliopsis open sourced a bundle allowing you to easily leverage the power of Symfony forms component with your eZPublish contents.

Hi

I've not been able to get a solution to work with the code above. I suspect I made some mistake in my adaptation. I'll look into it tomorrow.

In the meantime, do you know if eZ is going to adopt this bundle into a future release?

I require to have some content editing features in my project and was wondering if importing ezforms-bundle was the best move.

Cheers and thanks,

Io

Note that the above code is merely an explanation, you should refer to the bundle's readme file for proper implementation details. I'd be pleased to have a look if it helps.

I'll let someone from eZ Systems answer to that as I don't know what their plans are regarding community bundles.

It depends on your actual needs. I'd say if it does not involve any rich text field and you're already familiar with symfony forms, ezforms-bundle can be really handy. You'd have to create a handler using the eZPublish repository. The only alternative I think, is to rely on the legacy content/edit module. I think maybe a third option was in the pipe involving a new RichText field type but I don't have much info on that.

We will evaluate it at a later time, we also plan to use Symfony Forms, so it is safe to use this of course. But if we do include this one, we will probably expand on it quite a bit.

What we saw is needed is a way to tie FieldTypes to Form handling, and then take advantage of that for form building / handling based on ContentTypes. So this would make FieldTypes consist of Form part, Type, Value, optionally DB gateway and a Legacy DB Converter.

Thank you, both. I'll give it a shot, then.

Hello André,

any news on how eZ plans to integrate forms to deal with forms and contentTypes?

Any idea if we will have a replacement for the information collection functionality?

Also, have you been able to review Heliopsis solution to determine if you will integrate it or not?

Thank you in advance.
