SEO ez publish

Wednesday 12 November 2014 9:58:49 am - 3 replies

Hi,I feel like this forum lacks of quality SEO content,suggestions, ideas and solutions for the EZ publish CMS. Is this due to peoples lack of knowledge about SEO in the ez community or is it just me?I'm missing content about sitemap, robots.txt and hreflangs just to mention a few.
I have found a couple of good articles but it dates all the way back to 2006, and SEO has changed so much since then.

But I do find alot of articles with "wysiwyg". Maybe im blind...
Sorry if you find this post offending, but I'm a bit frustrated.

Hello Ceran,

I feel your pain. But eZ Publish by itself is very seo friendly.

Simply ask your questions here in the forums and we will do our best to help answer your questions.

There are many extensions to generate sitemaps like bcgooglesitemaps

And you can make custom design templates to customize output of markup.

I hope this helps!

Cheers,

Hi Heath,
Thank you for the reply.

There might be alot of postive SEO features with eZ CMS.
But it lacks basic access to small changes. As meta and h1,h2 changes etc.
Like this meta, how can i simply change this on a page?
<meta name="author" content="eZ Systems" />
<meta name="copyright" content="eZ Systems" />
<meta name="description" content="Content Management System" />
<meta name="keywords" content="cms, publish, e-commerce, content management, development framework" />

Hello Ceran,

You can change those values typically using site.ini.append.php settings (default).

If your looking to configure this information per content object I would strongly recommend you install the xrowmetadata extension

https://github.com/xrowgmbh/xrowmetadata

Cheers,
