eZ Matrix indexing

eZ Matrix indexing

Tuesday 22 November 2011 12:10:56 am - 2 replies

We use eZ Matrix for storing our author information (we do not store emails and we give an option for a canonical name) and I have noticed that eZ Find does not index it very nicely.

eZ Find indexes the eZ Matrix column names along with the contents, giving me author and name as my top two results. Any ideas for fixing this?

Also, I would like to create a facet using the author names and I have found that the names have been truncated for better search-ability. I noticed a similar problem with eZ Selection that was resolved, does anybody know of a fix for eZ Matrix datatype, or a way of working around it?

Yes, matrix is screwed regarding indexing in general, not just when using ezfind.

A simplehack which I use is to put the column names in stopwords.txt

Hi Tyler,

Might be worth looking into the 'subattributes" concept, giving you control on what is indexed for a given datatype (without kernel hack). A good tutorial can be found here :
