Is there a way to inmediatly show last published item (without waiting for cron?

Considering:

1. Its a news site.

2. We have multiple folders (International news, local news, sports, Health, Tech news, etc)

3. The main page is a Frontpage.

4. We only have two different types of content: Main Article and Article.

Is there a way to show a published article in the frontpage inmediatly after publishing it WITHOUT EZ flow?

You can use viewcache configuration so that whenever you publish an article, viewcache of homepage is expired.

Or, even easier, you can set the ttl for the view-cache of the homepage to a few minutes only. It will keep expiring, not based on content publication, but it will be fresh.

To display the articles, you of course just fetch them by hand in the template for the homepage.

If there's frequent creation of articles, or if you go for a low ttl, you should add cache-blocks inside the template to avoid recalculating the parts which do not change often.
