Custom fetch functions in eZ5.x

Tuesday 23 July 2013 1:57:08 pm - 3 replies

Hi guys, can you give me a tip whether custom fetch template operators written in eZ4.7 will work under 5.x? If not, what I need to add / change? Cheers.

Hi Piotr

Fetch functions are gone in eZ5. You'll need to use sub-requests or custom Twig helpers instead.

You can also get inspired by this blog post about being prepared for eZ5.

In any case, you'll need to learn how Symfony 2 works (base principles, including dependency injection, and how to develop Twig extensions).

eZ5 documentation on Confluence is also generally a good start (there is also an introduction for eZ4 developers)
