eZ 5 on ISPConfig 3 + nginx

eZ 5 on ISPConfig 3 + nginx

Monday 01 July 2013 11:18:45 am - 3 replies

Hi guys

I'm giving eZ 5 a go.

The server we're using this on is managed by ISPConfig 3 with nginx as wev server.

The issue is I cannot install eZ in a private space and point nginx to the web/ sub-directory. The current root directory is /var/www/site.com/web which is a symlink to /var/www/clients/clientXX/webYY/web/ and that's where I need to put all eZ files into.

So when I go to http://www.site.com/ it is pointing to /var/www/site.com/web/ (which contains the root folder of eZ install, including the web/ subfolder: /var/www/clients/clientXX/webYY/web/web)

How can I make this work with nginx rewrite rule (I cannot override the 'root' directive) so that I don't need to access http://www.site.com/web/ ?

Not sure if I'm clear enough, had a long day so my head is a bit confused...

Thanks

Huy

Hi,

I'm not sure if i have understand you. You have under /var/www/site.com/web/  the root folder of eZ  but as a symlink from the original folder reside in /var/www/clients/clientXX/webYY ? right.

I' m not sure if symlink will works properly, but in this case you can still mount the /var/www/clients/clientXX/webYY in /var/www/site.com/web/ . like this:

mount --bind /var/www/clients/clientXX/webYY /var/www/site.com/web/

you can try it.

Lets forget about /var/www/clients/clientXX/webYY, it's the way ISPConfig3 works. Lets assume that my eZ Publish files are installed in /var/www/site.com/web/, I cannot change Nginx to point the root to /var/www/site.com/web/web/ and I cannot install eZ Publish files in /var/www/site.com/
