EZ Publish 5 install

EZ Publish 5 install

Monday 22 October 2012 5:40:51 pm - 11 replies

I installed EZ Publish 5 using the GIT Development ONLY option from the tutorials (https://github.com/ezsystems/ezpublish5/blob/master/INSTALL.md)

I get the following screen once i go to the website

It works!
This is the default web page for this server.
The web server software is running but no content has been added, yet.
Although it looks very nice there are 2 things I do not know
1) Where is my database?
2) Where is my admin interface?
I tried "http://server/ezsetup" but this did not work for me saying Not Found

I would appreciate any help

Sounds like you have not enabled PHP, or the virtual host you have setup points to wrong folder.

There are plenty on guids on getting that working online, and as it depends on your setup it is probably better if you search around for tutorials for your setup.

Thank you Andre for your reply.

My current virtual host is pointing to the web directory which has index.php located in it. Is this the correct directory to point to?

Hi Shoaib

Yes it's the right location, but having the It Works! from Apache means that your virtual host is not taken into account.

Thank you Andre and Jérôme it was an apache conf problem which was causing it

Did you manage to install ezp 5, Shoaib ?

Sorry for hijacking this topic, but considering my installation-problems I felt like i could reuse thise one.

Unfortunately I cannot install ezpublish5. I have setup everything according to https://github.com/ezsystems/ezpublish5/blob/master/INSTALL.md, and i can load the setup-wizard.

I cannot procede with the installation past the first screen, since it says "Your system is not optimal, if you wish you can click the Finetune button". Clicking the "finetune" button reloads the page with no effect. (i keep getting ez-debug timing information at the bottom).

Also no System-Info ist shown in the right-bar.

here some additional Info:

  • ezpublish5 tag: 2012.11 (checked out from github, using latest tag, same effect with master)
  • mysqld  Ver 5.5.28-0ubuntu0.12.04.3 for debian-linux-gnu on i686 ((Ubuntu))
  • PHP 5.4.9 (built: Dec 18 2012 15:02:08) (using it with nginx and php-fpm)

I can provide additional Information (like composer.lock data, php-info or php -m outputs and the like)

Also no (symfony) logs are written and no php-errors thrown.

@Mike: your issue is discussed here and workaround is provided: http://share.ez.no/forums/ez-publ...-as-new-php-api/ezsetup-does-nothing

What finetune errors does it report ? Some of them can be skipped by checking the checkbox next to them.

BD: He never gets to the finetune page it seems, page reloads to start page on button clicks.

Mike: Which ezpublish legacy version are you using?

Hi André,

I have the same problem. Downloaded 2012.11 and followed the instructions to install it on Windows/WAMP. Got to the setup page, but now next/finetune buttons do not work.

The url in the source is <form method="post" action="/ez201211/web/index.php">

The url for the setup page I'm looking at is this: http://localhost/ez201211/web/index.php/ezsetup

Any workaround?

Thnx, Robin

Hi Robin,

thanks for the debugging, as I assumed.

The current workarounds and the info for how to do further debugging is found in:

Lets move the discussion there happy.gif Emoticon
