Canonical links handling in ezwebin

Tuesday 19 March 2013 2:37:05 pm - 1 reply

this is my first post to this forum and I am also fairly new to ezPublish, so maybe I chose the wrong Subforum. Please forgive me (and maybe move the topic) if I did so.

The company I have been working for now for nearly two months is running an ezPublish installation on Version Community Project 2011.11. We do use ezwebin as a base. We are now trying to implement canonical links for different language site accesses and I have found out that there is already such a feature in ezwebin (canonical_link.tpl).We have a ger-AT and a ger-DE site access (with ger-DE as "master version"blunk.gif Emoticon and a eng-US and a eng-GB site access (with eng-US as "master version"blunk.gif Emoticon.

However, I havn't managed by now to find out in which case a canonical to the base language version will be set. Does the canonical_language_url implement our needed functionallity at all?

Can anybody explain the behavior?

Thanks in advance and Greetings,

Hi Oskar,

for pages you wish to add canonical URLs, you can try playing with ezpagedata_set operator in full view templates, for example:

{ezpagedata_set( hash( "canonical_url", "/my_page" ) )}
{ezpagedata_set( hash( "canonical_language_url", "/my_other_page" ) )}
