IRC-channel for eZ users?

IRC-channel for eZ users?

Monday 22 March 2004 5:44:06 pm - 26 replies

Does anyone know if there is an IRC-channel for eZ users?

I'm probably not the only one who'd like to be able to communicate in real time with other eZ users, and maybe help out with a quik hack.

Or am I?

I have no knowledge whatsoever on how to run irc-channels, but if someone knows perhaps this could be possible?

What's your view on this?

best regards

I've used the webchat at freenode twice and received good advice both times.

Channel: #ezpublish

Thanks for the tip Benjamin.

btw, you may know already but the chan #ezpublish on freenode is not own by eZ Systems, further more no op, nore bot are present

Well to be honest, no op or bot is needed for now, as quite a few people are logged on this chan, so it's ok for now

But imagine the day when the chan is more and more popular?

In that perspective, eZ Systems should really consider acquire this chan on freenode (it's a common procedure as ezpublish is a trendmark of ezsystems) and put an official bot, for pastebin, search engine of ez links, etc...

Well, in fact, to have the same logic like all other chans of popular CMS!

Hi Jerome,

Excellent suggestions. We have actually already sent a chan transfer request to the current owner, to no avail so far. Do you know the standard procedure for doing so ?

Ok, so you need first to file a grf, (group registration form), all is indicated in freenode faq:

But first read, as the process seems to have been simplified last month

Nicolas, do not hesite to go on #ezpublish to ask for more question (or #freenode chan), kracker on #ezpublish may help you also (he has indicated me the procedure)

I've noticed also #ez was registered, you should acquire it to redirect to the official chan that would be ##ezpublish I guess, afterwards
