Using two User Group Classes

Using two User Group Classes

Monday 27 October 2014 10:41:34 am - 3 replies

Hello folks,

i would like to use two additional user group classes in my ezpublish system. Both are needed to store users in different classes. The original user group class should continue to exists so I have three different user grou classes.

In the side.ini I found some entries where I can define which ClassID to use for user groups. But it's not an array so I can't add my user group class ids. After some research I found some posts about creating an own user grou class and how to use it.

Is it possible to use more than one user group?

Yes - it is possible to use more than one User Group.

Do you mean you want to have different User Group classes or different types of User classes, or more User Groups using the same classes?

I want to use different User Group classes, because of both User Group classes contains different content and attributes. The User class will remain and is the only one in the system.

How can I set my settings that I have two User Groups and both can contain users and can get roles and policies?

All I found was this entries in the site.ini

# Which content class to use for user creation
UserClassID=4
# Which content class to use for user group creation
UserGroupClassID=3
# Which class group that has user classes, controls which classes
# is shown on the user navigation part. If empty all classes are used.
UserClassGroupID=2
# Which user is considered the creator
UserCreatorID=14

The UserClassID will be the same as now: 4
But the UserGroupClassID should be something like this now:

UserGroupClassID[]
UserGroupClassID[]=3 # ez standard usergroup class id
UserGroupClassID[]=xxx # my first new user group class id
UserGroupClassID[]=yyy # my second new user group class id

Hi Tim,

You can assign roles to custom usergroup classes if you add the identifiers to the Class array for the [AssignRole] settings in browse.ini.append.php

To have your custom classes appear in the treemenu, add your classes to the ShowClasses array for the [TreeMenu] settings in contentstructuremenu.ini.append.php
