Accessing assigned user roles/policies in 5.1

Monday 10 June 2013 11:33:33 am - 13 replies

We are the process of upgrading from 4.6 to 5.1 and I can't seem to locate how to view the roles/policies assigned to a user.  These used to be tabs in the admin interface when viewing a user (the tabs were Overview, Locations, Roles, Policies).  The tabs in 5.1 are Overview, Details, Locations, Relations and Ordering.

The Roles and Policies tabs were extremely useful in identifying when permissions for specific users were going wrong.  Am I missing something here in the interface?

These tabs are displayed only when the users are in the user section, not the standard one. Can you check this ?

I am browsing this url:  http://admin.ezpublish.local/Users/Members/Seiji-Test

Is that what you mean?

Yes, on this url, in the "details" tab, you can see a dropdown menu to set the section. Is it "standard" or "users" ?

It's a link to 'Users' (/section/view/2)

I've poked around in here, but I'm not seeing anything like what was in 4.6 where I could see a summary of that the user has?

It's not a link, it's a menu. It has to be set on "Users".

I think I'm might be confused.  Here's a screenshot of what I'm seeing:

The screenshot seems to be the old (eZ 4) admin, not the eZ 5 one!

Are you sure of your migration process?

Hm...unless there's something we're missing in the overrides.  We are using 5.1 with the legacy stack, and I removed the admin2 theme directory, so I'm guessing there's something still hanging on?  I'll review the upgrade docs again to see if there's anything I missed.  If you have any other suggestions, they would be greatly appreciated.

Your virtual host is on the web folder or the ezpublish_legacy folder ?

It points to the web directory

Maybe it's related to your extensions having customized the admin interface?

For 4.6 eZ used to have admin2 design on top of admin, for 5.x everything is coalesced into "admin".

There are a couple of corner cases where this will prevent a simple upgrade from working prefectly out of the box.

Thanks Gaetano, that fixed it! (I took over from Seiji)

window_controls.tpl had been copied and added to the custom theme for the siteaccess. I deleted it and the policies are back.

Nice to hear. Just make sure to check what was the change in your version compared to the original and reapply it if needed happy.gif Emoticon
