Hello ,

check if your mail server is up and running correctly.What do you use? SMTP, sendmail ?

You can configure mail settings in overridden settings/override/site.ini.append.php

I have tried both but the e-mail configuration is right 'cause when Somebody register a new user the system advise me...

More ideas? (and thanks!)

Can you check if in your site.ini.append.php you have this block :

[InformationCollectionSettings]
EmailReceiver=xxxxxx@xxxx.fr

Thanks! It was alright.

More ideas?

Can you try something :

1/ Set the TransportServer variable to "file"(mailsetting block in site.ini.append.php )

2 /Submit the form

3 /Check the mail file in "var/log/mail" and look for the email receiver

Hello

Do you use the Feedback Form content class (available with Website interface) ? If so, is the receiver e-mail right ?

Hello,

I have also the same problem with the Feedback Form content class or my personnal class
so I set transport=file
the mail is created, here is the mail :

Reply-To: sender@mail.fr

Les informations suivantes ont été collectées:
Email:

Message:

recipient is define in Feedback Form content class

it seems good exept the subject in the header, It could be that ?

I've tried in Transport=SMTP and Transport=sendmail, and the both don't work

Any other ideas ?

Thanks

Hi Eric and welcome to the eZ Community !

Try to spot the template used for creating the email (either you've overridden it, either it is in design/standard/templates/content/collectedinfomail/form.tpl ), and check whether you can find something like this :

{set-block scope=root variable=subject}Information{/set-block}

This is where you can control the content of the email's subject. You may want to try to modify the text there and double check whether you still get the cryptic output.

Let us know how things go,

Hi,

One source of problem might be the email configuration settings, causing emails not to be sent through at all. Are other types of emails sent ? If not, one troubleshooting method is to 'tail' the var/log/error.log file and submit an information collection form : check whether you get relevant error messages in the log file.

Also, double-check on the values for the settings under site.ini[MailSettings].

Nicolas ;

Thank you very much for your answer.

in my mail setting in site.ini inside of override folder i have

[MailSettings]
Transport=sendmail
AdminEmail=admin@myemail.com
EmailSender=client@myemail.com

in my error log i have :

[ May 15 2012 15:02:05 ] [192.168.1.254] eZSendmailTransport::sendMail:
An error occurred while sending e-mail. Check the Sendmail error message for further information (usually in /var/log/messages)

and i dont have any "message" error in log.

When I change Transport to File , i get the correct file in log/mail. the address is the address that i have put in Feedback form(Recipient).

Even in my backend I got the messages in my "administration".

Is there anything i havent done?

That would be the error log for your email program on the server.  Such as /var/log/messages or probably /var/log/mail.log - what it sounds like to me is that whatever email program you have is rejecting the mail for whatever reason - probably an access configuration or mydestination configuration.  Can you send mail from the command line?  Are you using an email domain.tld that matches the machine?

Hi Luca,

Do you have the exact same symptoms? Namely: when using the "file" transport system, the emails are created just fine?

Yes the mail is correctly created.

I think is something concerning my hosting provider service. The strange behaviour is that if I make a simple php page with mail() command everything works fine. With ez module email isn't send.

I found a workaround using SMTP service instead. With SMTP everything works.

Thanks

Luca
