Hello

I noticed that i cant download 4.7 version anymore. (site http://auth.ez.no/download/all_releases/ez_publish_4_stable_releases won't open)

so which version of ez Publish Community Project show i download ?

Version 4.4 is the last one which used the "old" release scheme/numbering (and you can find on share.ez.no for download).

After that, eZ Systems switched to a different scheme:

- Enterprise releases keep the old numbering system, they are released every 6 months

- Community releases are named using YYYY.MM scheme, not on same date as Enterprise ones. There has been so far more-or-less one release per month, but it was recently decided to do 1 release every 2 months

You will find version correspondence here: http://pubsvn.ez.no/ezpublish_version_history/index.php

So if you want the "closest community release to 4.7", you should go for 2012.5.

Otoh if you just want the "latest version available for legacy kernel", you can just get the very last version, currently 2013.11, and extract the legacy folder within. It will just work like 4.x did

I think it probably depends on how much of a risk taker you are.
I have a 30gig DB and at the moment I am doing it one version at a time, then dumping the DB, so I have copies before and after, and also archiving the "installation" versions so I can restore it all back again if it breaks. I am probably going to run out of room at some stage. Its a slow process. The correctxmalign.php script broke my content so I had to start again and am ignoring it from now on. The ezcache.php --clear-all --purge can take a couple of hours to run if you do "all" the "ids" at once.

I think its a good idea to document all your workings so each upgrade becomes easier.
Maybe an option is to start by upgrading one version at a time, then to do some direct upgrades as your confidence increases ?

You might want to take a look at this thread for help:

It's not going to be trivial.
