Hello,
I have a problem on a website ez publish. I have no conaissance ez publish, I usually used joomla and Wordress.
I have to host a ez publish website. After copying FTP and migration database files. I change the settings for connecting to the database in: settings / ovveride / site.ini.append.php
I also empty the folder / var / cache
I currently have an empty home page. Thank you for your help

You might just need some content.  Everything looks okay.

Edit the home page - add a title and some text.

It's not OK happy.gif Emoticon

The database is full : 370 Mo

I don't understand why the website is empty.

Hi Pa - it could be a lot of things but I'm guessing that for whatever reason you aren't getting the database connection.   You'll want to look at your log files and/or turn on debugging to see what the problem is.  Can you log into the backend?  If you can then it's not the database connection, if you can't then it probably is.

eZPublish logs are in var/log

You might want to look at your apache logs (mostly in /var/log/apache2) to see if it's a PHP error

Turn debug on with something like this in your site.ini.append.php:

[DebugSettings]
DebugOutput=enabled

Edit:

Looking at your site, the tagcloud works so it's not the database.  You'll have to look at the ez logs.  One question I have, do you use ezflow? I think whatever is creating your frontpage is messed up since I can get to the keyword content page.

Could also be some sort of non-ez caching problem/rewrite rule/static cache problem since if you go to http://www.banquededonneesfleuvepatrimoine.fr/content/view/full/5 you get a 404 error and not a module/error.

Pa, Ez publish has a very steep learning curve compared to Joomla or Wordpress. I have been using it for almost 4 years now running 4 sites and I still consider myself a novice. You really need to be a programmer with good trouble-shooting skills if you want a smooth path. I would rate the following skills as essential if you are to do anything other than just install it.
* confidence using the command line
* typical trouble-shooting skills such as any programmer would have
* html/css skills for editing your templates to change look and feel
* knowledge of the templating language you are using
* knowledge of a programming language such as php
* knowledge of mysql

Good luck!

I posted logs. I have a lot of errors. I think it lacks files on the FTP.

I only want this site to work. It worked on the old server. I do not want to learn to program on Ez.

Thank you for yours awnser

First, congratz for sniping that domain before me. Second in order to migrate ez publish it is not a matter of just changing the database settings. You need actually:

- Double check server requirements, specially the required php extensions, as long you are using 4.2.0 you need to check the requirements for that version, not the current version: http://www.banquededonneesfleuvepatrimoine.fr/index.php?/ezinfo/about

So, check http://doc.ez.no/eZ-Publish/Technical-manual/4.x/Installation/Normal-installation/Requirements-for-doing-a-normal-installation

- Check if all files has been uploaded to the server, usually I compress all files with tar.gz and upload it, then I decompress and move them to the correct path.

- Check file permissions, make sure apache has access to them.

- Check your database user rights, user needs to have all rights in the existing database, including creating temporary tables, etc.

- Check siteurl settings.

- Check server disk space.

- Check virtual host setup, or htaccess

- Check if database has been imported correctly.

Checking your installation you have a lot of warnings and errors, so a lot of hints.
