Setup wizard always shown

Setup wizard always shown

Hi, I have an existing and up & running ezPublish installation in a production environment. After a change to the "site.ini.append.php" configuration file in "<ez_publish_root>/settings/override" folder, I no longer see the site. When I go to any URL, the system always shows me the "Setup wizard". I checked the CheckValidity flag in the "site.ini.append.php" that is set to false. I also come back with the changes made on the configuration file (section [MailSettings]) but nothing appened. Could you please help me with some hints? I have no idea on how to solve this issue. Thanks.

The override directory is there, the site.ini.append.php is there and the [SiteAccessSettings]
CheckValidity=false is there?  Are they all readable by the user executing the apache server?

If these are verified, then... double-check the basics - are you going to the right machine, is apache pointing to the right directory, are you sure you're going the the right url - if you have some sort of linked settings directory, are all the links pointing to the place you think they are.  Are all the permissions right, is the database still there.

Try clearing the cache the hard way with a rm -rf "cache/* "*/cache/*" too.

This sounds weird like there's something missing.  If all you did is change one setting and then clear the cache which brought the site down... well, it's possible that clearing the cache changed something fundamentally but it really sounds like something else changed too - if you get to the point where you done all of the above and it's still not working, then start thinking about reverting using your backups.

Thank you very much Steven! I cleared the cache in the hard way as you suggested and now everything works!! Many thanks again!!
