template cache missing in ez4.3.0

template cache missing in ez4.3.0

Friday 10 January 2014 2:27:39 am - 6 replies

I am still trying to figure out why I have no graphic user interface. (gui).

While clearing the user-info cache in the ezwebin_site_admin view I noticed that the "Template cache"
was "greyed out". Not "tickable"

On my development server I looked in ezroot/var/ezwebin_site/cache and there is no "template" folder, where as there is in my live server.

I also notice that while in my dev box I have the following files:
classidentifiers,
expiry,  and
statelimitations files (with current dates) I do not have:
sortkey, and
classatributeidentifiers files.

Is this causal in my lack of a gui ?

Im still getting these errors.

Error: eZTemplate @ extension/ezoe/design/standard/templates/content/datatype/edit/ezxmltext_ezoe.tpl:43[8]     Jan 10 2014 01:25:58

Do you still have ezjscore disabled?  I'm pretty sure that's a dependency for ezoe.

Hi Steven, yes I do still have ezjscore disabled. It breaks my gui straight away.
My understanding was that I could use ezoe without it? I was pretty sure I was using ezoe on version 4.13 and 4.2 without ezjscore.

Dunno - I always used ezoe with ezjscore and there is no way it'll work unless you're loading jquery stuff another way.  Is it possible you did that?

I just tried it with an old ez430 site I still have lying around and not only did it break the online editor but it broke the whole backend design - all the tabs etc.

So, did you have some heavily customized admin templates - or was this where it switched to admin2?

That might have something to do with it - this is what I have in my admin siteaccess site.ini.append.php:

[DesignSettings]
AdditionalSiteDesignList[]=admin2

Do you have admin2 on the top of your AdditionalSiteDesignList and/or as the SiteDesign=admin2?

Admin2 is supposed to be optional Steven. Its been hard enough getting one of these things going as it is. I initially went down the admin2 path but then back-tracked as there were too many new variables to trouble-shoot. I think it involved upgrading ezwebin as well? I wonder if its time to try it. I cant really justify the time I am wasting on this as it is when all I am trying to do is get closer to version 5.

Yes, this is the exact effect I get when I enable ezjscore.

Thanks for feedback Steven it is really appreciated.

Edit.
No, I have never customized the admin templates at all thanks.

Edit 2.

I think admin2 was optional, but if you keep ugrading to get the site current, I don't think you'll be able to do it... at least without a boatload of problems.

The same with ezwebin - there is no way of upgrading the core without upgrading the extensions at the same time - without running into a boatload of problems.

I'm pretty sure if you update ezwebin and leave ezoe and ezjscore disabled then you'll have a working site - or at least you'll be closer.

I think the templates in ezwebin/templates/user have important changes.

Ok, I will spend some time on the ezwebin and admin2 parts. I was initially put off because the ezjscore package wouldn't load, and there was no documentation for it anywhere. I didn't realise it was already installed as a part of 4.3.

Thanks again Steven.
