What is the best way to disable the user registration e-mail sent to the *user*?

When validation is required, the user registering his account generally gets a first mail with the activation link and a second one confirming the registration process once the validation link is clicked.

I'm looking for a way to disable that second e-mail sent to the user. Not the one sent to the Admin, which is controlled by:

AFAIK, this e-mail is sent by eZUserOperationCollection::sendUserNotification() which is an operation method defined for "register" in: ezpublish_legacy/kernel/user/operation_definition.php

On various pages ( ), I have seen a reference to:

Which sounds like what I need, but it seems like that configuration is not supported anymore ?!

Maybe I missed a configuration or something obvious, but I think it's not possible to override the module operation list, right? So I guess the only possibilities left are one of:

  • Commenting the operation in ezpublish_legacy/kernel/user/operation_definition.php
  • Change eZUserOperationCollection::sendUserNotification() to take into account an INI setting (followed by a PR) happy.gif Emoticon

What's your suggestion?

I'd restore EmailUserInfo functionality in UserSettings

Rocco, that was my idea, but dit this ever existed before? If yes, why is it removed?

I grepped the whole change history for directory "settings" as well as "kernel/user/ezuseroperationcollection.php" and it looks like it never existed.
